TED DAVIS, JR ON WOMEN

As a New Hanover County Commissioner, Ted Davis voted NO on a $9,000 health department grant for IUDs, going on to blame women for being irresponsible for having sex.

Given the chance to approve a $9,000 health department grant for IUDs for low-income women in 2012, then County Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr. voted NO, saying:

"If these young women were responsible people and didn't have the sex to begin with, we wouldn't be in this situation, but unfortunately that's the problem that we have."--Ted Davis, Jr.
